About

About the Owner:

Hi, I’m Kate Huffman, Pink Hat Farmer! I’m a 6th generation farmer in rural Galva, Illinois and farm my family farm. I think you can guess the color hat I can typically be found in! Pink Hat Farmer started as a way for me to show my life as a female farmer. Today, it is so much more. It is a way to celebrate agriculture AND females in agriculture. I live and breathe agriculture. I’ve always been a windy person, but talk agriculture to me and we can sit for weeks!  I'm proud to say all parts of Pink Hat Farmer from the website to branding and accounting are partnered with other females in agriculture.

I graduated from Galva High School in 2009 and went onto University of Illinois receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Finance graduating in 2013. I have been in the banking world since graduating. My career has taken me up to the Chicago suburbs, Bloomington-Normal, Princeton and finally back to my home area.

I currently work full-time as a financial officer in Geneseo helping farmers achieve their financial goals and plan for the future of their farms.
